October 13 - November 17, 2018

Opening Reception: Saturday, October 13, 6-9pm
Closing Celebration: Saturday, November 17, 6-9pm

Gallery Hours: Sundays 1-4pm, or by Appointment

First Blood is a collection of new work by Pittsburgh artist Christine Bruening examining notions of the self through the various lenses of one's own identity- including art and art history, pop culture, and our own animal tendencies. The implementation of new technologies anchors this conversation to the present and asks where do we go from here?

In light of the recent political landscape and the exhibition's feminist foundation Phosphor will be collecting donations for the Women's Shelter and Center of Greater Pittsburgh at the opening. In addition to cash donations, we will be accepting supplies, including new and unopened body wash, diapers sizes 3-5, baby wipes, unused journals and notebooks, new scarves and gloves, and more. Please donate if you are able. For a full list of accepted supplies please see below.
